SECOND DOSE PFIZER VACCINE AFTER 42 DAYS – FAQs:
Must members wait until the EVDS system sends out an SMS informing them they are eligible for the second dose?
NO – this is not a requirement. Dis-Chem’s new Covid vaccination booking facility on their website allows medical scheme members to book a vaccination slot 42 days after receiving their first Pfizer vaccination dose.
Must members go to the same facility as where they received the first vaccine?
NO – members on a medical aid can choose any Dis-Chem vaccination site, even if they did not receive their first dose at a Dis-Chem.
Will walk-ins be accepted after 42 days for their second vaccine at a Dis-Chem site?
YES – they will be accepted. Priority will however be given to those who have a booking.
Will Dis-Chem send an SMS notification to members after 42 days?
YES – members should receive an SMS from Dis-Chem, as well as the EVDS generated one.
Members are more than welcome to return to the Dis-Chem vaccination site where they received their first dose from once they receive their SMS. This can even be done if the EVDS notification refers them to a different vaccination site.
Apart from the vaccination sites currently listed on Dis-Chem’s website, 3 additional vaccination sites will open this week. Please find the details below:
