This number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive emergency calls. The line is managed by highly qualified emergency personnel, who will assess each case and provide immediate feedback and assistance.
You or the hospital must notify Genesis via email to email@example.com on the first working day following such admission to hospital.
Remember that in an emergency you must seek admission to the closest hospital, be it public or private. Public and private hospitals alike may not refuse to admit emergency patients.
Please present your electronic membership card upon admission. Alternatively, the hospital will be able to verify your membership details via their electronic cardholder file.
All claims following an emergency admission will be assessed and reimbursed in accordance with the Scheme Rules.
* Means the sudden and, at the time unexpected onset of a health condition that requires immediate medical or surgical treatment, where failure to provide such treatment would result in serious impairment of bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of a bodily organ or part, or would place the person’s life in serious jeopardy. It is important to remember that the condition must require “immediate” life-saving treatment and not “urgent” treatment.
