Why Choose Genesis as your Medical Aid Scheme?
At Genesis we take your health as seriously as you do – that’s why we provide cost-effective access to quality healthcare coupled with outstanding client service.
There are many reasons why our members join Genesis – have a look at these. Do feel free to let us know your views on these or, indeed, share them with your friends.
Lowest contribution increase in the industry
Genesis Medical Scheme offers truly affordable medical aid cover which boasts the lowest annual contributions increase of all open medical schemes for 2014. While the average industry increase for 2014 was just under 9%, our average contribution increase was the lowest in the industry at only 6.4%.
Best value rates
Medical aid cover for adults starts from just R855 per adult p.m. on our Private Choice benefit option, while our Private Comprehensive cover is a mere R2 045 per month. Rates for children are even lower. The first child costs R340 p.m. and subsequent children only R125 p.m.
Flexibility and Freedom of Choice
All Genesis members have the luxury to choose their own hospital and their own doctor / medical specialist*. Our members are neither forced to go to network hospitals, nor are they forced to make use of network medical practitioners.
Peace of mind
We are rated as one of the most successful medical schemes in the country, as measured by our claims ratio, our ability to pay claims, the access we offer to medical facilities and the benefits provided vs contributions levied.** By entrusting us with the health matters of their lives, our members know that they are in good hands.
Basic dentistry benefits
All Genesis members enjoy cover for basic dentistry, which includes two dentist consultations and unlimited fillings and x-rays throughout the year.
It might seem strange to hear a medical aid scheme use the phrase ‘bedside manner’, but that’s exactly what we aspire to. Each Genesis member is treated as a real person, by another real person. Call us and you’ll see what we mean.
(*) Statutory prescribed minimum benefits (PMBs) in private hospitals are covered as per the Scheme Rules; in public or state hospitals, benefits are covered as prescribed by law.
(**) Studies conducted by AON Hewitt South Africa and Towers Watson.
Note: All stated benefits are for the full benefit year and will be pro-rated for members joining Genesis during the benefit year.
